Description/History:Card is square with a blue geometric pattern border. The front illustration is a boy giving a girl a valentine with cupids/blackbirds underneath. Handwritten inside is "from Pauline Stroud", and the inside verse is "There's so many kinds of Valentines! Some made of lace and glue, There's "comics" and the stand-up kind, And then there's postals, too; But when I choose my valentine, I'm going to choose just you." A black and white cupid illustration is under the verse. On the back is handwritten "To Mary Johnson", and printed "WhitneyMade, Worcester, Mass." with a gold "A" under that. This card was given to Mary Ruth Johnson McShane (1909-2001) of Mt.Vernon, MO in grade school.
